Tiger Woods on the Rise

Tiger Woods is one of the biggest names in the world of sport. Over the last five years, you can be forgiven if you thought that Tigermania was over forever and that every disappointing tournament finish might be the last for the storied career of Tiger Woods. However, the not-so-quiet rumblings that the youth phenomenon of golf and the 14-time Major winner might just be ready for a second act.

This development is not only good for Tiger, but good for the sport of golf that flourished in his heyday. The sport always had its stars - such as Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus - but never had a phenomenon on the scale of the superstardom that was Tiger Woods. His Hole In One at the 16th hole of the Phoenix Open in 1997 remains one of the most exciting moments in golf. With his appearances at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Masters, Wells Fargo and The Players, have all shown an incredible comeback thus far for a golfer that has been recovering from back surgery. However, regardless of some recent disappointing finishes, his fans are turning out in droves to every appearance.

The second-coming of Tiger Woods has brought a great deal of media attention, not all of it necessarily positive. Tiger still has a long way to go to win back the universal acclaim that he once enjoyed. However, the only story more compelling than when a star athlete falls from grace is their comeback. At 42 years old, it is extraordinary to see him as a fixture on the links once again.

No one knows how long this will last. The strain of competing on the PGA tour may be too much for his surgically-repaired spine and there is no guarantee that he will ever have another first-place finish, much less the level of dominance that he once enjoyed. However, we will all have the opportunity to watch and enjoy the story unfold throughout the PGA season and perhaps for many years to come. Welcome back, Tiger!

One thing is for sure, and that is with Tiger back on the course every competition he participates in has the potential to have that Million Dollar Shot. There are some exciting opportunities that Tiger's resurgence brings for promotion of your business.
